Eight years ago, Nanaimo gave me the extraordinary privilege — and responsibility — of a seat at the Council table.

I’ve watched this community grow, tackle critical issues, rebuild strong partnerships and make decisions that will shape Nanaimo for decades. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together.

We have much more to do.

Growth brings opportunity, but it also presents us with difficult questions. We need more homes while protecting the quality of life that makes Nanaimo special. We need a strong, resilient economy while respecting the natural systems we depend on. And we need to respond compassionately and effectively to homelessness, addiction and community safety.

I don’t have a list of promises for the next four years. I have something I hope is more useful: a record you can examine, values you know, a strong work ethic, and eight years of experience making difficult decisions on your behalf.

I love our city and I love this work. I would be honoured to continue serving you.
